“Speeding has been rampant in New York City since the onset of COVID and it’s rampant all over the country and unfortunately it’s having an effect on all of the great progress we’ve made on Vision Zero,” said Department of Transportation Commissioner Polly Trottenberg.

  1. A speed limit should reflect the nature of the road for which the speed is safe.
    Lowering the speed limit now creates a situation where law abiding citizens have to drive at a speed which is unnaturally low for the street environment, which is dumb. Why don’t they just enforce the speed limit by ticketing the offenders instead of collective punishing everybody else?
