Brooklyn principal Paula Lettiere is tired of feeling like she can't follow through on promises to the families who send their children to her school.

That's how it felt this summer when Lettiere, echoing the assurances of city officials, promised a robust virtual summer school to catch up struggling students, only to find a platform beset by tech glitches.

"Everyone was really excited, and then it was launch time and we couldn't deliver," lamented Lettiere, the principal of Fort Greene Prep Academy middle school.
