Prospect Park to Celebrate Earthday... Online!

Prospect Park Alliance educators and partners are creating nature games and activities all ages will enjoy

Prospect Park Alliance restored the historic Binnen Falls and Binnen Bridge at the Lullwater in the 1990s. This historic and manmade landscape was integral to park creators Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux’s vision of the park as a pastoral escape, and modeled after the rustic structures found in New York State’s Adirondack Mountains. Yes, the planet has been gripped with a global pandemic. But dare we call it a "silver lining" that, through all of its devastation, the earth's ozone layer is healing ...

This year, for Earth Day's 50th anniversary on April 22, we truly have something to celebrate!

Here's a little-known fact: Prospect Park is home to Brooklyn's only lake and last remaining forest. And this year, for Prospect Park Alliance's annual Earth Day Celebration, all activities will be held online!

Prospect Park Alliance educators and partners are creating nature games and activities all ages will enjoy, plus special programs: learn about the trees of Prospect Park with Alliance Forest Ecologist Howard Goldstein, and sign up for a Green-and-Go volunteer kit to help us keep the park green and vibrant.
