The annual gathering aims to bolster the Jewish faith globally while simultaneously dispelling any notions that Hasidic women play a diminished role in Hasidic Life. The conference will address such topics as fundraising, adult education, mental health, the opioid epidemic, mental health and how to continually foster Jewish pride in the face of growing hostility.
Hailing from as far away as Isreal, China, Ghana and Uzbekistan, the women will spend the time together brainstorming about the future of world Jewry and, more specifically, their roles as representatives of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement. The women leaders hashluchos (emissaries), who embrace multiple roles and responsibilities, will take part in seminars and workshops while sharing what each knows surrounding the most pressing issues impacting their communities and their future.
Dini Freundlich—co-director of Chabad of Beijing, China, with her husband, Rabbi Shimon Freundlich—will serve as keynote speaker at the conference's gala banquet on Sunday night.
The couple will discuss Chabad's role in serving communities facing the COVID-19 coronavirus in China and in other affected locales around the world.
Sunday will combine a day of workshops for emissaries and guests, culminating with a gala banquet, which will be broadcast live on Chabad.org beginning at 5:30pm.
