On Small Business Saturday, a popular co-working event space in Flatbush will be opening their offices, giving their small business members a chance to show off their goods and resources while offering the community one-on-one access to needed services.

The event is called Open Desk: Small Business Popup, hosted by BKLYN Commons and taking on November 20, at 495 Flatbush, from 3:00pm - 8:00pm.

The goal of the event is to introduce local residents to a variety of professional services and resources-- whether it's legal advice on immigration, financial planning or marketing for small businesses-- to match needs with services. "Small businesses are the backbone of any thriving community," says Johanne Brierre, head of growth for BKLYN Commons. "BKLYN Commons has a diverse membership consisting of a wealth of seasoned professionals that are committed to making meaningful contributions to the communities they serve."

NYC Small Business Service Center's mobile office will be on-site to assist business owners and entrepreneurs with M/WBE certification application, guiding them on how to become vendors and begin doing business with the city.

BKLYN Commons Small Business Pop Up also will feature a local vendor market, an opportunity for local crafters, artisans and creatives to showcase and sell their goods and services in an open, festive setting.

"The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is excited to partner with BKLYN Commons on this important and timely event," says Chamber President, Randy Peers. "BKLYN Commons has become a leader in the co-working movement in the borough, and their clients are the types of businesses the Chamber seeks to support as part of technical assistance focus."

Event partners include NYC Small Business Services, Flatbush Avenue BID, CAMBA, Inside BKLYN Podcast and Brooklyn Tech Week.
