Yes it's that time of year: It's the 21st Annual Great Pupkin Dog Costume Contest in Fort Greene Park.
Get your costumes ready and come on down for the annual Halloween festival and dog costume contest on Saturday, October 28 at 10:00am. Judging of dog costumes will start at 11:30am sharp at the bottom of the monument stairs.
Event will take place by the central lawn with the closest entrances on Dekalb & Washington Park and Dekalb & South Portland. The Great PUPkin contest happens in conjunction with the Fort Greene Park Halloween Festival.
While 80 advance registrations slots have sold out in RECORD time, walk-up registration for a remaining 40 registrants will be available on the day of the event in Fort Greene Park will be available for a $5.00 donation, cash only, on a first-come, first-served basis, on the monument plaza. Day-of registration will start at 10:45am!
Judging of all entrants begins at the bottom of the monument stairs at 11:30 a.m. sharp!
RAIN DATE FOR THE EVENT IS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27, SAME TIME AND LOCATION.
Note that if you were one of the 80 pups that pre-registered, remember to print or bring on your phone to check in by 11:00 a.m. on the day of event. A separate table for preregistrants will be set up on the monument plaza. IMPORTANT: If you do not check in by 11:00 a.m., your entry will be forfeited.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Fort Greene Park is easily accessible by subway. The closest stations are Dekalb Avenue and Nevins Street. Street parking in Brooklyn is limited but available.
What if I have a "team costume" with multiple dogs? What is the entry fee?
Please purchase one ticket per dog entered. This is a fundraiser for Fort Greene PUPS, so it's going to a good cause! Fort Greene PUPS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, so your donation is tax-deductible.

Is my pre-registered registration/ticket transferrable?
Sure, as long as the entrant brings a printout of the registration receipt.
When should I arrive?
If you pre-registered, be checked in at the Eventbrite preregistration table BEFORE 11:00 am. Because slots for no-shows will be given to on-site registrants, we must ask that ALL preregistered entrants be checked in by 11:00 am. So arrive prior to that to check in, please! This will give you plenty of time for photos and costume wrangling, and you won't have to wait in a long line to check in!
