On Sunday, October 20, from 12:00pm — 4:00pm, Prospect Park Alliance in partnership with Citi Bike and Bike New York kick off the first annual "Bike Day" for families.
Special for Kids
Sign up for their Kids Learn to Ride or if your child has outgrown his or her bike, take part in the Kids Bike Swap to swap out your child's too-small bike for a model that fits. Free helmets also will be given out, while supplies last.

For New Learners or with Disabilities

For children with special needs, there will be a demonstration of hand-cycles: people with disabilities can be introduced to tandem cycling and InTandem services; people new to cycling can get a feel for riding without the fear of falling by riding as a stoker (person on back); experienced cyclists can learn how to ride as captains (person on front).

For Women

Also, did you that know a majority of New York City cyclists are men? Join New York's Gear Femmes to learn more about mentoring and programs for women bikers  andsign up for a Bike Path ride class especially for women.

What else!

Stop by the event to learn more about bike safety in the park, and sign up for a free one-month trial of Citi Bike, as well as bike maps and other fun giveaways at the Citi Bike station. Join Prospect Park Alliance for a raffle of a Micro Kickboard Balance Bike for the pre-riders in your life, and other fun prizes to better experience the park.
