Livonia Apartments, a newly constructed building located at 463 Livonia Avenue in East New York has opened a lottery for 41 affordable units (of 57 total).The seven-story building is being constructed through the Extremely Low & Low-Income Affordability Program (ELLA) and the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development. The units are starting as low as $590 a month.Of the affordable apartments, there are 21 one-bedroom units, 18 two-bedroom units and two three-bedrooms. Monthly rents start at $590 and top out at $1,449.

The lottery is set at an area median income range of 40 percent for four of the units, 50 percent for another four units and 60 percent for the remaining 33 units. Eligible incomes range between $22,800 and $79,440 for households of one to seven people. A preference (50%) will be given to residents of Brooklyn’s Community Board 5.

Interested residents can apply for the housing lottery at NYC Housing Connect website through December 3, 2019.

On-site amenities include a superintendent and resident manager; a landscaped terrace, card-operated laundry room, residential roof decks on the second and seventh floors, The complex will also be built to meet LEED Silver standards with solar panels, green roofs, water saving plumbing and energy efficient heating.

A community facility and commercial space will occupy the ground floor.
