BRIC, the leading presenter of free cultural programming in Brooklyn, opened its 41st season of "Celebrate Brooklyn!" on June 4 with an annual fundraising gala, followed by a free concert, featuring iconic GRAMMY Award-winning entertainer Patti LaBelle!
The fundraiser gala showcased REVEL, BRIC's newly branded immersive and artist-driven experience which featured fashion partner Nanette Lepore. The evening included a toast to new Bric President Kristina Newman-Scott and honored BRIC's outgoing Board Chair Hilary Ackermann.
The gala was hosted by actress, comedian and author Franchesca Ramsey (Comedy Central, MTV). Some of the special guests included author Fran Lebowitz, actress Catherine Curtain (Orange is the New Black), comedian Wyatt Cenac, actor Dominique Jackson (Pose), Pulitzer Prize winning playwright and screenwriter and BRIC Board member Lynn Nottage, NYC First Lady Chirlane McCray, City Councilmember of the 35th District Laurie Cumbo, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and many more!
