Brooklyn high school seniors were treated to the ultimate pre-prom experience on Saturday as part of State Senator Kevin Parker's 12th Annual Prom Dress Giveaway.

More than 300 graduating students joined the senator at East Flabuths's Samuel J. Tilden High School to get ready for the social affair of their senior year. The royal treatment included free prom attire complete with shoes, accessories, make-up tutorials and hair styling consultations. Celebrity stylist Shatonia Amee lent her gifts to pamper and prep the excited students.

"It was an amazing day," said Amee, who has worked with major designers including Gucci, Christian Dior, Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Vera Wang and Donna Karan. "It warmed my heart to give these beautiful, well-deserving young ladies prom dresses. The girls were truly happy."

Additionally, local nonprofit Opportunities For A Better Tomorrow provided a selection of suits for the young gentlemen attending prom.

"Prom is an exciting milestone for seniors, and our students need to know that their community supports them and is willing to come together to make sure they have the resources they need to fully celebrate their accomplishments," said Parker.

The event, organized in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Delta Rho Omega Chapter, was made possible through the support of The Slim Heart Campaign, Nikki Phillip, among others.
