The Annual 10K Run and Fun Walk, hosted by Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, will return to Restoration Plaza on Sunday, October 7.

For the past 37 years, the Restoration run has become one of NYC's premier 10Ks that attracts people of all ages and fitness levels. Departing from Restoration Plaza, participants enjoy a scenic route past Bed-Stuy's beautiful brownstones --  a perfect "warm-up" for anyone training for November's ING Marathon.

"Restoration is proud to be the steward of this decades-old tradition that builds community spirit and promotes healthy living in Central Brooklyn," said Colvin W. Grannum, Restoration's Chief Executive Officer and president.

Assemblymember Tremaine S. Wright will serve as this year's master of ceremonies with musical support from DJ Berry Blends on the turntables.

Registration begins at 8:00am, followed by an energetic morning workout led by Alwayz Fit 4 Lyfe instructor Nakisha Smith who will make sure that all participants are warmed up properly. The race will kick off promptly at 10:00am.

And also little runners, ages 5 to 12, can join the fun by participating in the"Kiddie Run" which will take place on Herkimer Street adjacent to Restoration Plaza. All runners will stay well-hydrated and -nourished thanks to refreshments provided by Super Foodtown.

The top three male and female winners will win cash prizes, and the first 50 female runners, as well as all children participating in the Kiddie Run, will receive medals.

The 10K Run and Fun Walk returns to Bed-Stuy.

The proceeds from the race will benefit Restoration's Center for Healthy Neighborhoods which provides fitness and wellness classes, and access to healthy food.
