Massive 150,000-Square-Foot Art Storage Facility is Coming to Bushwick

Scheduled to open in fall 2019, UOVO is expected to be the largest art storage facility in Brooklyn.

UOVO, the New York—based art storage company launched by real estate executive and collector Steven Guttman, has announced that it is opening its fourth location in Bushwick next year. The 150,000-square-foot building, located at 105 Evergreen Ave, will provide climate-controlled storage and private viewing rooms, as well as transportation, packing, crating and installation services.

Guttman conceived the UOVO concept four years ago while exploring storage options for his own collection. He recognized the need for a new model of storage and services that could better address the specialized requirements of fine art, fashion, design and antique collections.

"Since opening UOVO in 2014, we have seen an unprecedented demand for our integrated art storage and services, which represent a complete reimagining of the industry," said Guttman. "Opening UOVO: BROOKLYN is our latest contribution to supporting New York's cultural community, including artists, collectors, galleries, designers, fashion houses and museums."

The UOVO: BROOKLYN building is made entirely of reinforced concrete, an ideal material for security, temperature and climate control. Storage will be available across three floors, each with an approximate ceiling height of 20 feet to accommodate even monumental works of art. Additionally, UOVO: BROOKLYN will feature a full-time staff of expert art handlers to assist with all client needs, including transportation, installation, shipping and packing.

To date, according to a statement by the company, more than 1,350 clients have used UOVO's storage and services, including museums, galleries, fashion houses and foundations, as well as individuals such as collectors, artists and art advisors. With the addition of the Brooklyn location, UOVO has amassed 650,000+ square feet of storage in New York in less than four years.
