Bridge Street Development Corporation (BSDC) and the Tompkins Avenue Merchants Association (TAMA) are taking over Tompkins Avenue, between Halsey Street and Gates Avenue, to celebrate the 8th Annual TAMA Summerfest with activities, live music and lots of great local food on Saturday, August 18.

Each year, TAMA Summerfest invites the natives and newcomers of Bedford Stuyvesant to celebrate the community and support the local businesses along Tompkins Avenue which is home to an eclectic mix of artisans, boutiques, bars, eateries, and wellness and health services. Local merchants, food vendors and community organizations will offer resources, product samples and raffles to entice neighbors to learn more about their local businesses.

"TAMA SummerFest Weekend Walks is an event for us to build stronger connections between the merchants and residents of Bedford Stuyvesant," explains Emilio Dorcely, president and CEO of BSDC, an organization that has worked for more than a decade to develop and strengthen merchant associations along Tompkins Avenue. "We are excited about the growth and partnership with merchants on Tompkins Avenue, which gives business owners an opportunity to interface with more than 1,000 potential customers."
