Brooklynites have a new shopping destination for fashion without breaking the bank. On Saturday, Irish clothing chain Primark opened its second NYC store at Brooklyn's Kings Plaza Mall, reports amNY.

The newly-opened 57,900-square-foot store stretches over three levels and offers clothing for the entire family as well as homeware, accessories, beauty products and confectionery at prices that are hard to believe: $9 for a sweatshirt, $19 jeans and sunglasses for $3.50.

First opened in Dublin in 1969, Primark today operates over 350 stores in 11 countries across Europe and America. The Brooklyn location is the second in NYC, joining a branch located in the Staten Island Mall; it is the ninth store in the country. The company, which sources its clothing in countries like Turkey and India, previously came under scrutiny for ignoring employment and environmental safety standards when in 2013 a factory in Bangladesh collapsed, killing more than 1,000 employees. Since then, it has rebranded itself as an ethical company with an entire webpage dedicated to proving transparency in its manufacturing process.

To familiarize Brooklynites with the retailer, Primark is conducting photo shoots across the borough; it kicked off its campaign on the Coney Island boardwalk and at Kings Plaza, and plans additional fashion shoots in Williamsburg and at the Brooklyn Bridge.

Primark is located at 5100 Kings Plaza and open weekdays from 10:00am to 9;30pm; Saturdays from 11:00am to 10:00pm on, and Sundays from 11:00am to 8:00pm.
