Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy's "Movies With A View" series will kick off again on Thursday, July 12 and this summer, it is taking female representation to the next level! The conservancy is adding SHE TALKS, a new talk series that will put leading women in the fields of media, the arts and politics center stage as they share their perspectives on their fields and New York City.

"In the era of the #MeToo movement, Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy is unambiguously putting women's stories, perspectives and raw talent front and center, and we're excited to see the community turn out to support New York's trailblazing female leaders," said Devin Mathis, Director of Programming for Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy.

The launch of SHE TALKS comes just weeks after the park announced that, for the first time in 19 years, only films directed by women will be shown under the theme SHE DIRECTS. In addition, music sets will spotlight women DJs under the moniker SHE SPINS. The new talk series will take place before the movie screenings throughout the summer and to further celebrate women's voices.

The complete SHE TALKS schedule still has to be revealed, but highlights so far include Alicia Glen, deputy mayor for Housing and Economic Development and creator of the new initiative Women.NYC; "Not All HERoes Wear Capes" presented by The Wing, and "#BallIsLife," a conversation with Elle Clay of Sports Bra podcast.

"It's no secret that New York City is the best place in the world for women to succeed," said Deputy Mayor Glen."Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy's female filmmaker series mirrors our commitment to support powerful, creative women by bringing together families from across the five boroughs and celebrating their work amidst a distinctly New York City backdrop."
