BRIC JazzFest includes film, dance, conversation and a three-stage, three-night jazz marathon, featuring performances by Stefon Harris, Mark de Clive-Lowe and Keyon Harrold.

BRIC released on Wednesday the lineup for its fourth annual JazzFest which is slated to return from Saturday, October 13 to Saturday, October 20. This year's headliners include rising star trumpeters Christian Scott and Keyon Harrold, as well as veteran performers such as singer/ bassist Meshell Ndegeocello, pianist Mark de Clive-Lowe and vibraphonist Stefon Harris. A three-night jazz marathon, which brings BRIC's JazzFest to its grand culmination, will take place from Thursday, October 18 to Saturday, October 20.

"This is not your traditional jazz festival," said Jack Walsh, BRIC's VP of Performing Arts. "The BRIC JazzFest is curated using a broad, multidisciplinary and inclusive approach that BRIC is known for and which connects this all-important musical genre to a range of audiences as diverse as Brooklyn—from curious newcomers to die-hard fans."

Christian Scott, also known as Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, is a two-time Edison Award-winning and Grammy Award-nominated trumpeter, composer and producer. Since 2002, Scott has released eleven critically acclaimed studio recordings, two live albums and one greatest hits collection. He has been heralded by JazzTimes Magazine as "Jazz's young style God." Scott is the progenitor of "Stretch Music," a jazz-rooted, genre-blind musical form that attempts to "stretch" jazz's rhythmic, melodic and harmonic conventions to encompass as many other musical forms, languages and cultures as possible.

Over the last 25 years, Meshell Ndegeocello has merged soul, rock and hip-hop to invent her own kind of R&B. Ndegeocello's sound is defined by her eclecticism and reluctance to do the same thing twice. With R&B, funk, soul as well as hip-hop and jazz influencing her sound, she has long been renowned for her distinctive genre blend and has often been credited for sparking the neo-soul movement. Since the release of her debut album"Plantation Lullabies" in 1993, the singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has continued to enthrall both critics and audiences.

In addition to Scott and Ndegeocello, the jazz marathon will feature performances by Kat Edmonson, Xenia Rubinos, Jazz Passengers, Deva Mahal, Resident Alien, Camila Meza, Lakecia Benjamin, Madison McFerrin, JD Allen, Arnetta Johnson, Yasser Tejeda y Palotré, Yotam Ben-Or Quartet and Noa Fort. BRIC also announced that more performers will be added to that eclectic list.

BRIC is offering $70 Early Bird 3-Day Passes for the BRIC JazzFest 2018 Marathon which will go on sale on Friday, June 29, at 10:00am. Regular day passes will be available for $30. Free events that will take place throughout the JazzFest will require an RSVP at BRICartsmedia.org.
