Bridge Street Development Corporation (BSDC), Bed-Stuy's independently-operated community development corporation, will host its 9th annual Fresh Start Home Resource Expo on Saturday, June 30, at the Boys and Girls High School in Bedford Stuyvesant.
The free event, open to both renters and homeowners, will provide a wealth of resources and information, panel discussions and workshops on subjects including first time home buying grants; foreclosure prevention, do it yourself repairs; tenant's rights and more.
In addition to Bridge Street's homeownership service team, Habitat for Humanity NYC, Neighborhood Housing Services of Bedford Stuyvesant and more than 30 other nonprofits, government agencies and housing resource providers will be on site to provide attendees with advice and opportunities to register for free services.
Radio personality Lenny Green will emcee the day-long event which also includes a panel discussion with Gloria D. Sandiford, president of the Bedford Stuyvesant Real Estate Board; Dedrick Asante-Muhammad, senior fellow at Prosperity Now, and Tamika Stembridge, executive director of dfree® Global Foundation, Inc. on the racial wealth divide in Black and Latino communities.
Scrumptious bites to nourish the expo-goers will be served by Nathan's Hot Dog Mobile Food Cart, the Pie Truck and Ices, among others.
