Greedi Vegan features plant-based creations inspired by the owner's southern roots and features diverse healthy food on the go that's good for you and has great taste.
Vegan restaurants are sprouting — and blossoming — all over Brooklyn, and Crown Heights just got a new addition. Greedi Vegan is a new eatery and takeout spot catering to — in keeping with its name — greedy vegans with Southern-inspired comfort food, reports VegNews.
After 29 years in the fashion industry, owner Leticia Daring, who has been vegan since her early childhood, opened the eatery last month. Inspired by her southern roots as well as global culinary experiences from her extensive travels, Daring has developed a strong concept for diverse healthy food on the go that's not only good for you but also has great taste. And with the support of her family and friends, the Greedi Vegan was born.
Daring's menu consists of nachos topped with vegan beef and cheese, "Greedi Bowls" filled with quinoa-breaded fried chicken, crab cake sliders topped with caramelized onions, as well as a weekend brunch menu that features grits, pancakes, overnight oats, fried vegan fish and tofu scrambles.
"Vegan food can be just as diverse and tasty as food created for a carnivorous palate—sometimes even better," Daring said. "The goal is to excite vegans and convert carnivores one plate at a time."
To keep it with this fine establishment's motto: "Eat Well. Eat Clean. Eat Greedi."
