David Blaine, according to Howard Stern the "greatest magician who ever lived," will make a truly magical appearance at Brooklyn's Kings Theatre on Thursday, July 12 and Saturday, July 14. Blaine just announced his 2018 North American tour which kicks off on May 1 in San Diego and includes 36 stops across the U.S. and Canada.

Since his beginnings as a Brooklyn street magician, millions have seen David Blaine on television; he has also shared his magic with live audiences of over 20,000 in arenas around the world.

He first made himself a household name with TV special David Blaine: Street Magic while performing illusions done right on the street, in front of handheld cameras and speechless passersby. Since then, he has performed intimately for every sitting American president including Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, as well as a number of international leaders and prominent figures such as Henry Kissinger, Michael Bloomberg, Stephen Hawking, Muhammad Ali, among others. His 2010 TED talk on how he held his breath for 17 minutes became one of Bill Gates' personal favorites and is widely considered the most revealing testimony Blaine has ever given on the topic of his remarkable career.

Blaine is known for his fusion of magic, illusions and performance stunts, including thrilling acts such as Buried Alive for which he was entombed in an underground plastic casket beneath a three-ton water tank beside the Hudson River for an entire week. After Blaine re-emerged BBC News stated, "The 26-year-old magician has outdone his hero, Harry Houdini, who had planned a similar feat but died in 1926 before he could perform it.

But that was just the beginning. For Frozen in Time, he remained encased inside a six-ton block of ice for three days in Times Square, and for Vertigo, Blaine stood atop a 100-foot pillar in Bryant Park for 36 hours without a safety net and then leaped into a stack of cardboard boxes on live television. His most recent endurance stunt, Electrified, put Blaine on the receiving end of one million volts discharged at him continuously for 72 hours from seven Tesla coils.

After all that - what wizardry is he going to bring "home" to Brooklyn? In July, you shall find out - and marvel!
