Comedy superstar Hannibal Buress, who used to host a weekly stand-up comedy show at The Knitting Factory, is coming "home" to our borough for a one-night a stand-up set of all-new material at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House on Friday, May 18.

Hannibal Buress, who describes himself as s a comedian, actor, writer, musician, magician and poker dealer from Chicago, has been lauded as one of the most "supremely gifted and respected" comics around. Yet, according to his own assessment: "In my hometown of Chicago, I'm kind of a medium deal."

Buress is currently a cast member on Comedy Central's Broad City and the same-shirt-wearing co-host of Adult Swim's The Eric Andre Show. Buress is also a favorite on the late-night circuit and has written for NBC shows Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock. He recently appeared in Daddy's Home, alongside Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, Baywatch and Spider-Man: Homecoming, and lent his voice to the animated films The Secret Life of Pets and Angry Birds.

The comic has recorded one album, My Name Is Hannibal, and a comedy special, Hannibal Buress: Animal Furnace. His stand-up show Comedy Camisado is currently streaming on Netflix.

With his perfect comedic delivery, timing and coolness, Hannibal Buress is one of the most well-rounded stand-ups today, and Brooklynites can experience his comedic gift that keeps on giving in May at BAM!
