Next Week, for an entire week, the Mayor's office will be setting up shop in Downtown Brooklyn!

I'm looking forward to taking a week to focus on my borough. Brooklyn is where Chirlane and I were married and where we raised our children. As a Brooklynite living temporarily in Manhattan, I'm happy to be coming home. As your Mayor, I am focused on how my administration can make this city work for every New Yorker in every borough.
That is why the leaders of my administration and I will be working out of Brooklyn Borough Hall for the fifth and final installment of our series of "City Hall in Your Borough" weeks. I've loved each one of the City Hall in Your Borough weeks, but for me, this one is special.
On Wednesday, October 25th, from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M., we'll be hosting the City Hall in Your Borough Resource Fair at the Brooklyn College Student Center, 2705 Campus Road, 2nd Floor.
You can sign up in advance at nyc.gov/Brooklyn, or just come down.
We'll have top people from the Mayor's Office and agencies like Transportation, Education, Parks and more. You can meet with them and share your concerns, questions and suggestions.
We will also conduct a Town hall with City Council Member Darlene Mealy and Borough President Eric Adams on Tuesday, October 24th at 7:30 P.M. at P.S. 327 111 Bristol Street, between Pitkin and Sutter Avenues. You can sign up at www.nyc.gov/cd41townhall.
On that evening, you will have the chance to ask me your questions directly and get answers from me and top staff in real time.
It's important to me to hear from you, because as I always say, change comes from the people. The people of Brooklyn demanded that we right some long standing wrongs and address the needs of the close to 135,000 Brooklynites who live in public housing.
You demanded lights and cameras to make your homes safer and we took action. We have installed more than 2,500 safety lights in NYCHA developments in Brooklyn and there are now more than 4,000 cameras in Brooklyn developments.
You demanded that we take a new path when it comes to policing. There were those who told us that this city needed stop and frisk to stay safe. We proved them wrong. We have ended the era of stop and frisk, bringing it down 93 percent from its highest levels. We are now the safest big city in America, with major crimes down to their lowest levels in modern history.
But we understood we had to go further. That is why we have rolled out a new Neighborhood Policing vision. It frees up cops to walk the same beats every day, reach out to residents and form alliances that will replace mistrust with cooperation so that everyone can be safer.
We've done a lot together, but there is much more to do. I am looking forward to sharing a week with you, learning how we can do a better job making this a better and fairer city.
