The Back to School Pedriatic Health Fair offered free physicals, dental checkups, vision and hearing tests
On Tuesday, Kings County Hospital, located at 451 Clarkson Avenue in East Flatbush, hosted a Back to School Pediatric Health Fair from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The event included free health screenings, face painting, giveaways and more.
During the Back to School health fair, children and parents who needed physicals, dental checkups, or vision and hearing tests for school could make on-the-spot pediatric clinic appointments. Clinical staff including doctors and behavioral health experts were available to speak about everything from immunizations, healthy eating, to bullying and student stress. City agencies, which were on site for questions and services, included the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), Administration for Children's Services (ACS) and Thrive NYC, the City's mental health program, among others.
Free Back to School Pedriatic Health Fairs are a great resource for anyone who does not have health insurance, is a member of the immigrant community or who still may need to get the necessary documents in order for the start of the school year.
