In what can be considered one of the largest health events in Brooklyn this summer, the Brownsville Multi-Service Family Health Center is presenting Summerfest, their annual health fair on July 16, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. The BMS Summerfest will take place at BMS Family Health and Wellness Centers, 592 Rockaway Avenue, Brooklyn, NY and is free to attend. The fair plans to provide health information as well as services to residents through one of the largest annual gatherings of health and social service providers in Brooklyn.
Amid the long list of services and activities for Summerfest goers to choose from, those concerned with plaguing health issues can enjoy access to mammograms, dental screenings, blood pressure screenings, HIV testing and HEP B testing. In addition, all of the center’s clinical services like pediatrics, adult medicine and social services will be open and available.
As if access to these invaluable screenings weren’t enough, the Summerfest provides entertainment for families of all ages with a large stage and performances by poets, dancers, and marching bands. For parents who want to make sure the kids are fuly immersed, there will be a KidsZone with workshops on golf and fencing, and face painting.
Throughout the day, the Summerfest team will offer beverages and a free BBQ for all participants to enjoy.
