The New York Police Department are investigating a hit-and-run incident that left two children and their grandparents seriously injured on Saturday, June 25.  According to a recent report, the crash happened around 7:00 a.m. on Dewitt Avenue in East New York.  Witnesses identified the vehicle as a BMW with a female driver as it slammed into a livery cab that was driving the four victims down the street.

Witnesses explained that the woman swerved around a parked car and slammed into the cab before speeding away from the incident.  During her swift exit, she slammed into an SUV which left her vehicle wedged underneath another parked vehicle up the street.  The driver and a male passenger quickly exited the vehicle and ran away before authorities were able to arrive on the scene.

"They all ran from the accident," said a witness. "The [neighbors] were trying to contain them, but they got away,"

The victims included two children, ages 3 and 10 and their grandparents who were all rushed to Brookdale University Hospital for treatment.  Police haven't made any arrests but they assured neighbors that the victims were in stable condition and that the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with any information is urged to report it to the Crime Stoppers 24/7 hotline at 1-866-313-TIPS (8477)
