AbunDance Academy of the Arts, an established non-profit arts organization is presenting a new work, "Annie, AbunDantly!", on Sunday, June 26, at 6:00  p.m. in Kings Theatre.  AbunDance Academy of the Arts is recognized for their dedication to offering affordable dance, theater and musical instruction for students of all ages. In continuing their traditions of supporting and promoting the community, this theatrical dance performance features students and seasoned Broadway performance artists who represent Brooklyn.

The performance draws influences from the iconic 1982 movie production, "Annie" while introducing a new version of the story that includes a look at the life of the adult version of the character.  Although Annie is still the charming and sweet main character, in this version the African-American Annie tackles a run for the presidency of the United States of America.  According to the artistic director of the production, the story is aimed at young women and the dreams that propel them forward.

"I created this story to inspire and encourage girls and women of all backgrounds and to show them that with hard work, motivation and humor, you can rise up to be anything that you desire, even the president," said Karisma Jay, Founder and Artistic Director of the AbunDance Academy of the Arts.

In addition to the inspiring plot, audiences can enjoy a diverse range of musical genres throughout the production. With music from classic movie soundtracks, Tchaikovsky, the famed Salsa queen Celia Cruz, live African style drumming and more, there is something for audiences of all ages.

"Annie, AbunDantly!" features performers from ages 3 all the way up to 80 years old, with a host of Broadway alumni like Karisma Jay, who is also the founder of AbunDance Academy of the Arts.

"I hope that those who see this show will take Annie's drive and apply it to their own lives." said Jay.

With support in part by Brooklyn Arts Council, Department of Cultural Affairs' Su-Casa program, NYC Department of Aging, East Flatbush Village, Inc. and Councilmember Jumaane Williams, this is definitely a must-see event!

"Annie, AbunDantly!" will run on Sunday, June 26, 2016, 6:00 PM  Tickets: $45
