On Saturday June 4th, Spike Lee and the 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks company present a celebration of Prince that is unlike any other party thrown this year.  While the visionary artist's birthday is actually June 7th, Spike Lee has joined forces with the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration to create a day party that is perfectly situated to serve an adult crowd on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon.

Spike Lee made the party announcement on his Facebook page on May 30th with a simple mantra for the potential party goers to consider:

"Come dressed in purple" Spike Lee wrote, encouraging fans to be prepared.

From 12 pm to 6 pm, Prince fans can enjoy music by DJ Kim Lightfoot and DJ Timmy Richardson.  In addition to the dj sets that will offer some of Prince's greatest contributions, the entire event is hosted by radio host Sway and Spike Lee himself.  The Purple People Party is entirely free to attend, keeping in the tradition of Prince's long history for charitable contributions and community events.

The Prince Born Day Party is set for June 4 from 12 to 6 p.m. at Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration at Herkimer Street between New York and Brooklyn avenues.  For more information, please visit this link.
