Juneteenth family fun

All across the United States, and beyond, celebrations commemorate this historical event of 1865 in Galveston, Texas.  There, on June 19th, when word of the emancipation proclamation finally reached the enslaved, a new and uncertain way of life began.  Today, more than 145 years since, African Americans have elevated this celebration, publicly and privately to one of the most important of the year.

On June 18th, the celebration continues in East New York as the public is invited to join in.  This year's theme is focused on "Abuse". We are either a part of the problem or a part of the solution (when you see something, say something) when it comes to this topic. Our goal is to provide resources from the East New York Community to the wider NYC area about how to take on the challenges of Abuse weather it be "bullying" inside school or "bullying" at home (Senior Citizens —which we will all become one day, Parent-on-parent—how to have conversations in front of our kids, Parent-to-Child and believe it or not Child-Parent abuse).

Come out and enjoy the wonderful and exciting showcase with artist across NYC and family activities you don't want to miss out. Also support our local vendors.  For more information, please visit this link.
