For many years, sections of Brooklyn have been world renowned for their cultural diversity and contribution to modern art.  In a recent article, performing arts company Purelements has announced their second annual "East New York in Motion" event which highlights the various cultures of the East New York.

This expansive celebration of culture, music, and dance is slated to take place at the St. Paul Community Baptist Church on May 7th at 7pm.  Participating dance companies include Amira Mor, Something Positive, Bangladesh Institute, St. Paul Dance Ministries, Purelements and performances by Tiffany Benson, poet Jaime Lewis and video presentation by ArtsENY.  This family-friendly two hour performance will feature some youth performers while providing the community with some insight into Bellydance, Caribbean, African, Salsa, and even Hip-Hop movement.

The organizers hope the event promotes more understanding, respect, and appreciation for the dynamic cultures that make up the East New York area.  Although general admission is free to the public, the organizers have taken the time to set up an informative Eventbrite page in order to help visitors plan their experience.  For more information, visit EastNewYorkinMotion.eventbrite.com.
