Almost exactly two years after Deputy Inspector Scott Henderson was appointed Commanding Officer of Bed-Stuy’s 81st precinct (March 2014), the precinct is announcing that Henderson will be promoted to the position of Full Inspector.

His promotion will take place this Tuesday March 29, 2016  11am at One Police Plaza.

Deputy Inspector Scott Henderson was appointed to the New York City Police Department in June 1995, and began his career on patrol in the 79th Precinct.

He was promoted to Detective Specialist June 1999; Sergeant in August 2000; Lieutenant in November 2003; Captain in March 2007; and Deputy Inspector in October 2012.

Deputy Inspector Henderson has served in the 32, 83, 81, 75, and 88 Precincts; as well as PSA 3, Internal Affairs Bureau, School Safety Division, and Patrol Borough Brooklyn North.

Deputy Inspector Henderson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Baruch College/City University of New York and a Master’s Degree from Marist College.

Inspector Henderson said he would like to thank the Bedford Stuyvesant community for all of its support and effort in making Bedford Stuyvesant a better place to live, work and raise our youth:

“Without your assistance, we cannot make the changes we have,” said Inspector Henderson. “We must continue to work together hand and hand to continue the success of a positive police and community relationship.”

CORRECTION 3/29, 6:20pm: This story incorrectly stated that Commanding Officer Henderson was with the 88th Precinct. He is in fact with the 81st Precinct. The story has been updated to reflect that correction.
