On Sunday, April 3, 2016, 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Center for Black Literature at Medgar Evers College will present a conversation with Dr. Michael Eric Dyson and Dr. Khalil Gibran Muhammad on the topic of "Writing Race, Embracing Difference."
Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, named by Ebony as one of the "100 Most Influential Black Americans, is the author of 16 books; his most recent being The Black Presidency: Barack Obama and the Politics of Race in America. He is currently University Professor of Sociology at Georgetown University.
Dr. Khalil Gibran Muhammad is the director of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, a research division of the New York Public Library, and is one of the world's leading research facilities dedicated to the history of the African diaspora.
Dr. Michael Eric Dyson and Dr. Khalil Gibran Muhammad will engage in a conversation on politics and race in a "racially constructed" society.
