Police Looking for Suspect in Fatal Shooting on Hancock St. Tuesday Night

Police in the 81st Precinct are asking for the public's help in identifying the person responsible for the shooting death of a 29-year-old man Tuesday night in Bed-Stuy.

According to reports, on February 16, at around around 7:20 pm 81st Pct police received two 911 calls regarding a male shot in front of 666 Hancock St, between Patchen Ave and Malcolm X Blvd.

Police arrived on the scene to find man identified as Lionel McLean, 29, shot two times-- once in the chest and once in the head-- laying in front of 666 Hancock Street. The victim was taken to Interfaith Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:40pm.

According to witnesses who knew the victim, McLean was at the location visiting someone when an argument between McLean and the unidentified shooter ensued outside, ending in the fatal shooting.

The case is still under investigation, and no arrests have been made at this time.
