On Thursday, December 10, at 7:00pm, at the Brooklyn Museum, artists/activists Tania Bruguera and Dread Scott will lead a discussion for the opening program of Agitprop!, an exhibit that explores the legacy and continued power of politically engaged art.

Presented by the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, Agitprop! connects contemporary art committed to fostering social change with historic moments in creative activism through more than fifty contemporary projects and artworks from five historical moments of political urgency.

The discussion will focus on the political issues addressed by both artists individually through their work and the strategies they employ to combat the demonization of immigrants, institutionalized oppression, and police brutality.

The conversation will be an opportunity not only to learn from history, but to see art as a way to fight for a more just future.
