On Monday, November 30, at 5:00pm, at Metrotech Commons, Brooklyn is invited to celebrate the 26th annual tree lighting with Santa Claus and his live reindeer, a musical performance by the GRAMMY award-winning Brooklyn Youth Chorus, stunts by the Big Apple Circus, dance routines by Brooklyn based Dancewave and holiday treats from Starbucks and La Défense.
There will also be appearances by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro and Nets players Thaddeus Young and Chris McCollough.
The event will culminate with the lighting of the 54-foot high, 7,000lb Norway Spruce from North Carolina, the borough's largest Christmas Tree, which was put into place utilizing an 18 ton crane. Over 10,000 lights will adorn the tree.
The event is free and open to the public.
