On Saturday, October 31, the Von King Conservancy, in partnership with the 79th Precinct, hosted its first annual Halloween Festival.

The family-friendly even included a haunted house, fun games and an expansive pumpkin patch located on the future sight of the Conservancy garden.

In honor of the inaugural affair, Von King Conservancy's Executive Director Wayne Devonish took the opportunity to honor longtime resident Stephanie Faulkner. "When the conservancy first started, Stephanie without any reservation supported our efforts," Devonish stated. The organization also honored Rev. Jamison and his dedicated crew for their outstanding work in keeping the park clean.

The Von King Park Conservancy is a 500 Men Making A Difference initiative. Over the past five years, the organization— whose mission is to recruit volunteers, mentor and develop leaders within the community— has spent countless hours bringing an expansive wealth of resources to the park in its effort to provide a world-class institution that will serve the community of Bedford Stuyvesant.
