It's been nearly 30 years since Rakim emerged on the scene quickly amassing a fan base that would-- three decades in- gild him in hip hop's canon as arguably one of the most influential MCs of all time!

In 1986, Rakim, alongside his partner Eric B., with the classic single "Eric B. Is President," built a reputation as one of the most skilled wordsmiths ever to step into a recording booth, playing a major part in helping to revolutionize the art of rhyming-- all the while never using profanity!

Eric B. & Rakim's classic album Paid in Full was named the greatest hip hop album of all time by MTV in 2006, while Rakim himself was ranked #4 on MTV's list of the Greatest MCs of All Time!

Now, this hip hop legend will take the stage in Bed-Stuy for the 2015 Restoration Rocks!, a free concert taking place Saturday, October 10, from 12:00noon — 5:00pm on Fulton Street, between Marcy and Brooklyn avenues.
