WASH AVE ROCKS! is back. The 6th annual street fair will take place this year on Sunday, August 16, from 12:00noon to 6:00pm on Washington Avenue (between Prospect Place and St. Marks Avenue).
WashAveRocksSponsored by the Washington Avenue-Prospect Heights Association (WAPHA) and the Pratt Area Community Council (PACC), the street fair will showcase a variety of vendors, gifted artists and thriving restaurant-- the best of Prospect Heights and the surrounding Crown Heights and Park Slope neighborhoods.

The focus of this year's WASH AVE ROCKS!  is "Family + Food + Fashion + Fun." In addition to showcasing a variety ofWashAveRocks - Fashion show

"Washington Avenue is a gateway to the Brooklyn Museum, the Botanical Gardens and Prospect Park. But it's also the heart of a neighborhood that a lot of people are fiercely proud to call home," said WAPHA president Bradford Nicoll. "WASH AVE ROCKS! is definitely the highlight of WAPHA's year and we always look forward to the opportunity to share all the great things that this avenue and neighborhood have to offer.

Some of this year's highlights include:

A FOOD TASTING presented by Washington Avenue merchants B Cake NY, Citrico, Dorsey's Kitchen, Little Miss Muffin, Shane's, and others. Also, Way Station and Brooklyn Brewery will sponsor the Beer Garden. Proceeds from the food tasting and beer garden events will support various WAPHA activities throughout the year, including Wash Ave Rocks!, Shop Local, holiday street lighting, plus numerous seminars, workshops, and networking events.

A HAIR AND FASHION RUNWAY SHOW presented by a collective of WAPHA merchants and Brooklyn-based retailers: Divine Connection Hair Spa, Idalias Salon & I Beauty Bar, Nu Wave Kultural Kreations, Futa by Chama, Gureje, Stephen Daniels, Tafari Tribe, and Imani Jewelry.

THE POOCH PARADE by Pooch Purrfect

LIVE MUSIC + DANCE PERFORMANCES: Scheduled to perform are the Higher Levin Steel Orchestra, African Drum and Dance + Capoeira by Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy, The Latin Jazz Five, a martial arts demonstration by Martial Arts USA, and more.

FOR CHILDREN: The street fair will feature a Kids Carnival Corner with rides, face painting, and much, much more!
