On Wednesday, June 10, from 9:30am - 4:00pm, local job seekers will have a unique opportunity to meet with ten employees at a special employment screening event at Restoration Plaza.

Hosted by Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, in partnership with Workforce 1, the event will provide targeted screening for numerous positions in retail, customer service, health, and security. Assisting at the event will be volunteers from Goldman Sachs' Community TeamWorks program who will help with intake and screening of candidates for the interview process.

Participating employers include Deals/Dollar Tree, Gymboree, IHop, H&M, Modell's Sporting Goods Store, Stella 34, Hornblower Cruises, Heighten Security, Partners in Care, and Sentry Security. Interview-ready individuals will have the opportunity to meet with employers with a goal of immediate placement.

In addition, all attendees will have the opportunity to take advantage of the many services available at Restoration's Economic Solutions Center, from help polishing up their resume and interview skills to sector-specific job training, financial counseling, and benefits enrollment. The Economic Solutions Center routinely hosts screening events like this with as many as 150 individuals in attendance. Some 7,200 people receive assistance from the Center each year with services that include benefits enrollments, financial literacy, career development, youth development, and job placement and retention.

"We could not do the work we do without the help of the many employers and volunteers who partner with us throughout the year," said Jako Borren, director of operations for Restoration's Economic Solutions Center. "With their help, we look forward to placing individuals on a sound path toward meaningful careers and their long-term professional success."

Candidates are expected to come dressed for success with an updated resume.
