The program, which will be emceed by WBGO radio host Rob Crocker, will take place at Restoration Plaza, located at 2368 Fulton Street.
“The Fresh Start Home Resource Expo is an excellent opportunity for renters, homeowners, and those wishing to purchase a home to learn about the wide variety of information, resources, and services that can help them make their dreams come true,” says Emilio Dorcely, President & CEO of Bridge Street Development Corporation. “We’d like to thank the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development for the funding that makes this event possible each year.”
In addition to Bridge Street’s homeownership services team, Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration Corporations Single Stop team, Habitat for Humanity NYC, Neighborhood Housing Services of Bedford-Stuyvesant, and more than 30 other nonprofits, government agencies, and housing resource providers will be on hand to provide attendees with advice, information, and opportunities to register for free services.
Participants can expect to receive information on:
- Resources for renters and homeowners
- Wealth building and budgeting
- Do-it-yourself home repairs
- Foreclosure prevention
- Energy saving tips
- Purchasing your first home
Attendees will be eligible to win raffle prizes throughout the day and individuals who pre-register via www.bsdcorp.org/expo will be entered into a grand raffle for a chance to win an iPad.
