Kensington Resident Sophia Sylvester believes she has a pretty good idea, which is why she launched her line of body care products called Brooklyn Flavors, each with a unique smell named after a different neighborhood in Brooklyn!

Sylvester started her journey into smell-goods in 2003 as a candlemaker but over time began creating body products to add to her line. Her goal was to use natural ingredients that can be used on the skin with stronger scents that would last. Hence, in 2006, the birth of Brooklyn Flavors!

Today, her shop, Brooklyn Flavors, located at 820 Washington Avenue, on the border of Crown Heights and Prospect Heights sells candles, soaps, oils, incense, sea salt scrubs and body butters-- all made with organic ingredients, sourced locally and from around the world.

Want to know what Fort Greene smells like? Apparently, it carries the essence of soft fresh citrus and a hint of mint. Don't like the smell of Prospect Heights? Well, for around $15, you can pick up and move from neighborhood to neighborhood, without the hassle of closing costs, moving fees or first- and last-month's rents!
