Police Investigating Shooting in Brevoort Houses

Police in the 81st Precinct of Bed-Stuy are on the hunt for the person(s) responsible for shooting and injuring a 27-year-old man in a Bed-Stuy housing complex Tuesday afternoon.

According to reports, cops responded to a call of 10 shots fired at around1:50pm at 1851 Fulton Street in the Brevoort Houses, patrolled by PSA 3. After arriving on the scene, they found a man, identified as James Yarborough, shot once in the cheek and twice in the back.

The victim said he was at the housing complex visiting the mother of his child and was shot when attempting to leave by an unknown person who fled in an unknown direction.

The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital where he was treated and is in fair condition.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
