A woman whose skeletal remains were found stuffed into a charred suitcase in a burned-out Brooklyn building nearly two years ago has been identified, reported the Daily News.

DNA testing shows the woman was Erica McDaniel, who was 30 years old at the time of her death, police said Tuesday. Her death has been ruled a homicide.

McDaniel was found inside 174 Hull St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant on March 23, 2013, shortly right after the property was sold, cops said.

At one particular time, McDaniel lived on Bedford Ave. close to Greene Ave., but she also spent time in her native Kansas. McDaniel was arrested in the city in 2011, her final known contact with the NYPD, police mentioned.

Police are asking, anyone with information on McDaniel and the possible circumstances surrounding her death to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-Ideas.
