Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams and Deputy Borough President Diana Reyna rang in 2015 by hosting two New Year's Eve celebrations, including the inaugural "ball drop" in Coney Island, in partnership with Council Member Mark Treyger and the Alliance for Coney Island, and the annual festivities at Grand Army Plaza, in partnership with the Prospect Park Alliance.

Thousands of Brooklynites and visitors showed up to party at both of the family-friendly events, which each featured fireworks and live entertainment.

"There was no better New Year's Eve party on the planet than what we had in Brooklyn — and we gave everyone two parties from which to choose!" said Borough President Adams.

The celebration in Grand Army Plaza, emceed by Reyna, featured free hot chocolate for attendees and a Motown revue performance. The party in Coney Island, where the countdown to midnight was jointly conducted by Borough President Adams and members of the New York City Police Department, included a DJ and local sideshow performers.

"From the traditional fireworks display in Grand Army Plaza to our first-ever 'ball drop' in Coney Island, there was plenty of family-friendly excitement to kick off 2015 the right way," said Adams. "I look forward to seeing even more revelers next year adding to the thousands that celebrated with us this year!"
