Vasco Ventures in late December 2013 unveiled plans to construct 35 luxury rental units at 410 Tompkins Ave, on the corner of Hancock St in Bed-Stuy.

The private development company plans to demolish three buildings at the location to make way for four adjacent buildings– 410, 412, 414 and 416 Tompkins Avenue– and a vacant lot.

The building plans show an L-shaped tower with 18 parking spaces and an amenities list that will include large balconies, rooftop terraces, a top-floor gym with a half-glass rooftop offering views of the Manhattan skyline.

“Before Bed-Stuy started getting red hot, we realized where it was going,” says Vasco Ventures Founder and CEO Ephraim Vashovsky. “But the market is getting flushed out, properties have nearly tripled in price over the past few years, and we’re giving residents—primarily young business people—the option to live in the area without buying.”

  1. this building is SO ugly. You aren’t going to build that, are you? No one will want to live there. The design is so tacky. Building looks evil. Ephraim Vashovsky build something with a deisign that fits the context of the local architecture if you want to get higher rents! This is an UGLY building that defaces the neighborhood. Please do not build this desgin.

  2. Is it too much to ask for a building that blends with existing architecture in the community? It will be just as popular and easier to rent if you give reidents a true taste of the community’s historic structures. That’s why people want to live in Bed-Stuy.
