1. Alternate side of the street parking and parking meter regulations are in full effect this week.

3. On Monday, December 15, at 5:00 PM, Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams will celebrate the holiday season by lighting the Christmas tree, a 20-ft. Douglas fir, at Brooklyn Borough Hall Plaza. After the lighting, he will promptly darken the lights for a moment of silence over the death of Eric Garner and of peaceful solidarity with those calling for local and national criminal justice reform.

4. Community Board 2 Meetings this week:

  • Parks and Recreation Committee: Monday, December 15, 2014; Dining Room A (off of the cafeteria) at The Brooklyn Hospital Center, 121 DeKalb Avenue at St. Felix Street, in Fort Greene.The parks committee will begin work on revising the sections of Fiscal Year 2017 Statement of District Needs that relate to its portfolio.
  • Transportation and Public Safety Committee: Tuesday, December 16, 2014; 727 Classon Avenue (between Park and Prospect places), in Crown Heights. Christopher Hrones, the Downtown Brooklyn transportation coordinator for the Department of Transportation (DOT), will present to the two committees with pedestrian safety improvements for the intersection of Atlantic, Washington and Underhill avenues.
