miss al boogie

miss al boogie is finding a new home in making music. She began singing and dancing as a child, but after moving to Brooklyn when she transferred to NYU she immersed herself in the club and street dance community. She absorbed the music and the movement of NYC like a sponge. Raised between Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Albany, NY, she spent much time at roller skating rinks and school dances as well as frequent rock concert attendance with her father and brothers. You can hear this influence on the music she writes and performs now. Called a quirky Teena Marie or an R&B Bjork, miss al boogie likes to produce a thoughtful lyric, a strong groove and a funky vocal. She is currently penning and collaborating on production of her next album.

Gifted singer and songwriter Ashley "Vontrise" Tubbs was born and raised in the Bedford Stuyvesant-- Marcy Houses to be exact. Vontrise started singing in the church at the tender age of five and she has been singing ever since. Singing came easy for Vontrise because her father is a church musician and mother would sing in concert choirs. Of course to perfect her craft and become aware of techniques Vontrise attended and completed a Singer/Songwriter workshop at Medgar Evers College. Vontrise has a unique style of singing, because she has infused the sound of Gospel, Jazz and R&B into one sound. With her wide range and versatility she is able to conquer any style of music, but her heart has and always be with Gospel music. Vontrise has a gift that was truly given to her by God and she in return will forever give God the glory and acknowledgement.
