As part of its upcoming capital plan, the MTA announced on Wednesday it will buy 940 new subway cars for its lettered lines and install cameras beginning in 2015, the Post reports.

It also is considering adding cameras to 300 of the new cars recently purchased, including the C line through Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and Bed-Stuy, and the J line through Bed-Stuy.

The move comes on the heels of complaints expressed by Public Advocate Letitia James of sexual assaults on subways.

Subway maps will also be revised to show where NYPD transit stations are located.
