A group of New York City police are speaking loudly against a recent 120-page report by the Civilian Complaint Review Board that says the police department doesn't discipline enough of its members over chokeholds, reported the Post.

One police source called the report demoralizing, and many others say it is shortsighted in failing to detail the circumstances around the numbers of civilians that resist arrest.

"Sadly, it remains open season on attacking the police," said Ed Mullins, president of the Sergeants Benevolent Association. "The police are not the evil wolf that lurks in the street waiting to pounce on a defenseless little lamb."

City Councilmember Robert Cornegy said, "Without question, there needs to be better training" of officers when it comes to chokeholds.

"Obviously, the community would benefit from'' regular psychiatric evaluations of officers, Cornegy added. "Without good community-police relations, policing can't go on."

Mayor de Blasio and Police Commissioner Bill Bratton declined to comment on the CCRB report.
