Cops Arrest Gold Chain Thief

Cops have taken into custody and arrested a man suspected of two separate incidents of robbery at gunpoint within minutes of each other in the Flatbush/Crown Heights area.

Cops have taken into custody and arrested a man suspected of two separate incidents of robbery at gunpoint within minutes of each other in the Flatbush/Crown Heights area.

According to police reports, on Sunday, August 10 at around 3:00am, the suspect attempted to rob the first victim, a man, of his gold chain on the corner of Albany Ave and Midwood St. A second, identical incident happened with another victim and his gold chain in front of 630 Utica Ave near the corner of Winthrop Ave.

The male perp was described as 5'6', creaser haircut, medium build , 20 to 23 years of age.

On August 14, detectives arrested a man believed to be the suspect. He was placed in a line up in the 71 Precinct in which and one of the victims from the Aug 10 incident positively ID'd him.

The suspect is currently in central booking awaiting a grand jury hearing, reported police.
