As more proof that Brooklyn is fast gaining on the heels of Manhattan as the place to be for media, politics and culture, the Democratic National Committee scouting team will be in town today and tomorrow scouting out Barclays Center as a potential host for the 2016 DNC Convention.

The 15-member technical advisory team will travel by charter bus Monday morning from their hotel in midtown Manhattan to Barclays Center. And Brooklyn's local elected officials are chomping at the bit to show off what exactly what their great borough has to offer.

Public Advocate and Brooklyn resident Letitia James, said she will definitely be present: "We offer diversity, we offer culture, we offer vibrancy," she said. "Brooklyn is now a branded destination, and I would urge the DNC to be part of the hottest borough on the planet."

The mayor's office has organized meals and meetings with elected officials and cultural and business leaders at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and Barclays Center.

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams said the NYPD and the city Department of Transportation will ensure smooth travel for the delegates between boroughs. "This is the place where top Democratic donors are located," said Adams.
