Bridge Closures

The Brooklyn Bridge will be closed to Manhattan-bound traffic from 12:01am Saturday to 6:00am Monday. Motorists should consider the Manhattan Bridge, Williamsburg Bridge, or Hugh L. Carey Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel (MTA-tolled facility) as alternate routes.

Brooklyn-bound traffic will access the Brooklyn Bridge normally. There will be no reversal or change to the normal Brooklyn-bound traffic patterns on the Brooklyn Bridge.

In addition to the full weekend bridge closure, there will be limited closures of the eastbound and westbound Brooklyn Queens Expressway. The eastbound BQE will be closed between Exit 28A (Cadman Plaza West) and Exit 29A (Manhattan Bridge/Nassau Street) on Saturday from 1 am to 6 amon Sunday from 2 am to 7 am, and on Monday from 12:01 am to 4 am. Westbound, the ramp of Exit 28 (Cadman Plaza West/Brooklyn Bridge) will be closed from 5 pm Saturday to 8 pm Sunday.

The Gowanus Expressway left lane outbound/southbound between the Hugh L. Carey Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel and 17th Street will be closed from 11 pm Friday through 5 am Monday to facilitate NY State DOT roadway construction.

Two southbound lanes into Queens and one northbound lane into the Bronx on the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge will be closed on Sunday from 12:01 am to 8 am. Motorists should expect delays and use the Throgs Neck Bridge as an alternate.

Street Closures: Manhattan
Broadway between 47th Street and 57th Street in Manhattan will be closed on Saturday from 11 am to 6 pm for the Times Square Block Party.

Vesey Street between North End Avenue and West Street will be closed from 10 am to 2 pm for the NALC 2nd Annual Deliver the Cure Walk for MDA.

Mott Street between Canal Street and Chatham Square will be closed from 11 am to 4 pm for the DOT Weekend Walks Explore Chinatown Mid-Summer Festival.
